How it all started

Not too long ago, I was working full time at a job that was slowly sucking the life right out of me. I had a brutally long commute - 2 hours each way! - and I was so ready for a change. I remember one particular gruelling drive home and I was wishing that I could make a change, something big that would make me feel excited about work again. And of course, when you ask the universe for help, it always delivers! I was laid off a couple of weeks later, and took it as a sign to pursue something completely different. 

Growth

I began experimenting with dyeing yarn, something I hadn't tried before. It was completely addictive - I loved seeing the ways the colours combined, the slight changes depending on how I flicked my wrist or what strength it was applied, wet or dry. There are so many different ways to dye yarn, it feels like an endless discovery of process and art. Excited by the results, I decided to open up an Etsy shop and see if others liked the sort of colourways I was dyeing. I carefully kept notes, experimented with different techniques until i found the ones that I liked best. Slowly, I developed my core colourways, and bolstered by sales on Etsy, I keep updating as much as possible and continue to grow my colourway offerings. I'm just starting to expand into wholesale, which is another exciting step!

Final Thoughts

I love colour.
